Forever Young (フォーエバーヤング) is a Japanese-bred Thoroughbred born February 24, 2021 at Northern Farm in Hokkaido, by the stallion Real Steel out of the American mare Forever Darling. Purchased at the 2022 JRHA Select Sale by Susumu Fujita for 107,800,000 yen and trained by Yoshito Yahagi out of Ritto, he was unbeaten through his two-year-old season with three wins including the Zen-Nippon Nisai Yushun (JpnI); he closed 2023 rated 113 in the JPN Thoroughbred Ranking, the highest mark ever given to a two-year-old dirt horse in that ranking. In 2024 he stepped up to the international circuit, winning the Saudi Derby (G3) and the UAE Derby (G2) before finishing third by a head in the Kentucky Derby. He returned to Japan to take the Tokyo Daishōten (G1). In 2025 he reached the top of the dirt division by winning the Saudi Cup (G1) and the Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) — the first Japanese-bred and Japanese-trained horse to do so — earning the JRA Horse of the Year (the first dirt horse in the award's history) and the Eclipse Award for Champion Older Dirt Male. In 2026 he repeated in the Saudi Cup, becoming the first horse to win it in consecutive runnings, and finished second in the Dubai World Cup. In September 2026 he won the Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1) at Belmont Park, taking his record to 16 starts, 12 wins and 5,035,735,300 yen in earnings.

Frankel (GB, 2008) is a British Thoroughbred widely considered one of the greatest racehorses in history. Unbeaten in 14 starts between 2010 and 2012, he reached a Timeform rating of 147 —the highest in the organisation's history— and a World Thoroughbred Rankings rating of 140, the best since the ranking was introduced in 1977. Trained by Sir Henry Cecil and ridden in every race by Tom Queally, he has stood at stud at Banstead Manor (Juddmonte) since 2013.

Real Steel (JP, 2012) is a Japanese stallion by Deep Impact out of Loves Only Me and full brother to multiple G1 winner Loves Only You. Trained by Yoshito Yahagi, he won the Kyodo Tsushin Hai (G3, 2015), the Dubai Turf (G1, 2016) and the Mainichi Ōkan (G2, 2017) in a 17-start career. Retired to stud, his most notable progeny is Forever Young (JPN, 2021), the first Japanese-bred horse to win the Breeders' Cup Classic (2025).
